------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Mar 21 15:21:45 +0000 2007 ------- INTRODUCTION In Impress, if you have one presentation, you can easily import existing slides (linked, so that they get updated once the original file is changed) into new documents (Insert->File->Choose File->Click on "+"->Choose Slides you want). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- PROBLEM In Writer however, this is not possible that way. You can insert an existing Impress-OLE-Object, linked, but you cannot choose, which slide of a complete presentation you like to have displayed, every time *_only the first slide is shown_*. There is no possibility to change this behaviour. How to reproduce this: Have an Impress-presentation *with more than one* slide. Create a new Writer document. Try to insert the second slide of the existing presentation _linked_ into your writer-document. Only way to insert slides (linked): Insert->Object->OLE-Object->From File->Check "Link to file"->Choose your impress-presentation->OK. But only the first slide is shown. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- WORKAROUND A possible workaround is, to insert a new OLE-Object (Impress) and in that new slideshow, add the (only one!) slide of the existing slideshow (linked). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- But if you want to insert more than two or three slides into one Writer-document (e.g. to have handout for a presentation with lots of additional explanations or a manual, how to hold your speech and which slides to show next) , this is not a very nice way of doing it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ENHANCEMENT Much nicer would be to be able to choose which slide should be shown OR (much better) if you have both Writer and Impress running just to drag and drop the corresponding slide from Impress into Writer (with the possiility to choose between linked and non-linked content). --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
