The root error was that the display order of the series did change after reload.
On creation the last series was the outer ring (what was wrong). After save and
reload the last series was the inner ring and therefore not exploded anymore.
So please check that the order of the rings is correct:
The first series must be displayed as outer ring like in the old chart.
