But the *cause* is not a bug in the debian version... Why do we have a component model when writer crashes trying to access libdba? Why isn't there (at least) an error message? Besides the fact that your current package split is no incredibly useless (a -base almost only just containing the XML stuff is nonsense, if you do that you could just keep everything in one package. It only makes real sense when you really move the base stuff into -base. But that's another story).
