The behavior that I see regarding this bug is slightly different but certainly
related (Windows XP Pro SP2, OOo 2.2). When I insert a note for the first time
and start entering text, everything is fine until I press ENTER upon which all
the text I entered into the note disappears. However, I can highlight the text
(even though I can't see it) and copy/delete/modify it as I please. The note
text does show up when I start editing it.

As Chris mentioned previously, editing an existing note is problematic, although
I don't have the problem with the text turning black, my experience is that the
text simply disappears (but, again, is still able to be highlighted). I've even
seen a case where creating a brand new note and pressing ENTER multiple times
while creating the note makes the text higher up disappear even though text at
the bottom of the note is still visible.
