The formula you can use as a workaround is
{=SUM(NOT(ISERROR(FIND("A";Data))))-SUM(ISBLANK(Data))}
And

well, they just work as in Excel and never return an array, not even if two
arrays were passed as arguments, which isn't always what one might expect..
you'll have to use the {=SUM(...)} workarounds.
