I only use/install the "Writer" portion of Open Office and often don't really understand what goes on with it but I stumble through. For the last 2-3 days, I've been trying to update from 2.0 to 2.2 - why, I don't really know. The update stops with an error message telling me that "The feature you are trying use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insert the 'OpenOffice.org' disk and click OK". I have never had an Open Office disk of any sort. I even tried to simply delete the Open Office program folder and ran into components that could not be deleted. I ultimately had to use the Windows System Restore feature to put me back where I started. Bottom line - at some point I'm likely to want to uninstall the Open Office software I now have.
