I'm sorry, but I do not understand what your problem might be. I did some test
and did not see anything unexpected.
Please:
read and heed our guidelines on
<http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/pre_submission.html> and
<http://www.openoffice.org/bugs/bug_writing_guidelines.html>,
contribute a clear step by step instruction containing containing all
obervations (error messages ...), every key press and every mouse click how to
reproduce the problem (not "insert a picture", but Menu "Insert > Image > ...")
...
The contribute a meaningful summary (your one does not note any problem)
Please heed "only one bug per issue"!
Please always explain why you believe that the observed behaviour might be a bug
like
expected: image should still be shown ..., because help under heading xxxx says
...."
