She is a long-time user of MS Word who is trying to transition to OpenOffice. So the request was based more on duplicating MS Word functionality that she was already familiar with than on necessarily the most logical way to handle this. I agree that #1598 has a better approach and will close this and vote for that bug. Unfortunately it seems like it's been in the request queue quite a long time and with lots of support, yet nothing has been done. I doubt one more vote will make much difference, but hope springs eternal.
