Maybe this is the same problem as described in issue 76100 ("Newly downloaded
dictionary for en_UK causes crash when spellchecking").
SBA->adubois: Does this happen with text set to English (US) too?
To try, select text in document, format-character, tab "font", select "English
(US)", OK, Press <F7> to run spellcheck)
