Yes, I think "picky" is something like this, but maybe it's your lucky day... I
am picky too! ;)
(But you can imagine we have more serious things to fix before this...)

A quick search has shown (http://www.webster.com/dictionary/quotation+mark):
"quotation mark
Function: noun
: one of a pair of punctuation marks " " or ` ' used chiefly to indicate the
beginning and the end of a quotation in which the exact phraseology of another
or of a text is directly cited"

So I think, "apostroph" is used when abbreviating a word, not when quoting...
Maybe there are differences between US English an UK English on this point... I
don't know.

That's why I'll forward this to the "wiser minds" you were refering to. :)
