I am trying to type the line:

Exhibits O(2^sqrt{N}) time behavior

Typing the formula is proving almost impossible, for the following reasons:

Going to Insert->Object->Formula inserts an independent object; I see no way
to make the formula inline with the rest of the text and trying to align and
size the object the same as the text proved tedious and fruitless.

Using Insert->Special Characters seems to do nothing. Double-clicking on the
sqrt symbol or clicking on it and clicking OK closes the window but the
character does not appear as it does in (e.g.) Writer or Calc.

It is possible to paste the sqrt symbol (â) from (at least) Calc but only
using
the Control-V sequence. Middle-clicking does not work because you have to
click on the box to be able to paste in it; This selects the text box
overwriting the X selection with the text box itself. The following middle
click simply clones the whole text box.

It appears to be impossible to superscript only the sqrt{N}. Selecting the
appropriate text and right-clicking to Character... then choosing Superscript
applies the superscript to all the text in the box.

I realize that these issues may be distinct however they appear in the same
report as I believe they represent a fundamental lack of functionality in
Impress. Please let me know if I am mistaken so that I can file multiple
reports.
