Found under OOo 2.2 (official RPMs) under Ubuntu, locale is fr_FR.UTF-8 :
When special characters are pasted as DDE link (either coming from Calc or
Writer) into Writer, they're not correctly displayed, here is a sample of the
result :
€ -> €
£ -> £
¤ -> ¤
µ -> µ
$ -> $ (OK)
@ -> @ (OK)
