Creating update information xml files for extension involves perl script solenv/bin/make_ext_update_info.pl which contains use XML::Parser; Though XML::Parser already is listed as build requirement (see http://tools.openoffice.org/dev_docs/build_linux.html#BuildRequirements) de facto it was not really needed up to now. Please evaluate whether we really want to make that module mandatory for every build. If so, an explicit announcement would be necessary. An other solution might be to make generating update information files for extensions configurable.
