------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Jun 17 18:43:57 +0000 2007 ------- I'm attaching a patch to fix the RTL text problems in the ScEditWindows and in the preview. The patch determines the text direction based on the locale. Niklas suggested that I base this on the text direction of the page style. I did not follow this, since in our RTL version, I've set the default page style to LTR (at least for now) to enable easier entry of formulas, as described in http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=77928 . Since header/footer text does not contain formulas, we want to default to RTL text direction, so I go by the locale. As I wrote in Issue 77928, our setting of the default textdir as LTR is tentative, until we see how users react. If we change the default textdir to RTL, then there would be room for following Niklas' suggestion. Ideally, though, users should be able to override the default, as per http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=38998 Regarding "Left Area" being on the right and vice versa, I'll open a separate issue for that. Niklas, thanks for your help with this issue. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
