Bad news: the whole error handling code seems not to be functional on Linux: the
exceptions thrown don't make it through the C stack frames of libexpat, which
don't contain exception handling information. Instead the process is terminated
immediately.
Since the applied fix solves the problem only for Solaris, I am removing the
issue from the CWS obr05 - this has to wait until we find the time to re-think
the error handling completely.
