There is one aspect that deserves another issue of its own, though, and this is possibly what mtrausch was talking about: On Linux, CFF/.otf OpenType fonts do not appear in the menu at all, so another Linux plattform bug to bring the CFF support at least to Windows level (supported on screen, no embedding) would be needed. This is not a general Linux plattform problem btw, other Linux/Gnome programs support CFF/.otf flavoured OT fonts just fine.
