2007 -------
Fortunatelly I succeeded in fixing my laptop PC (still my NEC is still dead,
Windows XP doesn't start at all.) For fixing, I did it as follow:
1 Open something unassociated file.
Windows will ask you what program do you want to open with.
2 Choose [Others], C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe
CommandPrompt will launch.
3 Type "assoc .exe=exefile"
Then you can open execute files correctly, and now you can use Windows Recover
in order to restore you Windows as one before m217 installed.
NOTE
To repair the association to service and shortcut, type "assoc .lnk=lnkfile"
"assoc .msc=mscfile" as well.
