ab->villeroy: The result is correct because the not operator for integer
values does not perform a logical (C++: !) but a binary (C++: ~) not
operation. So 1 = binary 00000001 becomes 11111110 = -2
The if then interprets the result as boolean of course and as both
1 and -2 are != 0, both are interpreted as true.
