2007 -------
Take a document with a 3d scene, for example that from issue 79433.
Turn scene to rotate modus and drag on the red handles.
You see no guide lines any more.

In OOo2.1 you see continuous thin black lines permanently, which indicates the
rectangular box of the scene. This guide lines are essential when working with
scenes. They are the only way to see the position of the scene. You need the
position straight to front, straight to side and straight to top, when you will
align the objects inside the scene.
