I verified this with i18n31 (solsparc debug).
steps:
1. open Writer new doc
2. enter
abc漢字def𪚲𨑕𨐌efg
3 save it as Text Encoded (UTF-8)
4. open it again
OOo2.2.1 fails to display Kanji between "def" and "efg" (just blank square), but
i18n31 display them correctly with HG MinchoL Sun.
