I've tried a few other fonts, and the problem did appear under OOo 2.2 under
some of them (mostly the sans serif fonts).
However, I've now tried OOo 2.3, SRC680_m220 (Windows XP), and it no longer
exhibits the problem. So it looks like someone has already fixed it in OOo 2.3.
