If you have a standard Win 2k/XP setup there should be ".xcu" files in 2 places. User: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\OpenOffice.org2\user\registry\data\org\openoffice\Office Global: C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.0\share\registry\data\org\openoffice\Office The user Linguistic.xcu file was the significant one for me (removing it fixed the problem) but it is normally under the hidden "Application Data" folder.
