I find that there are several bugs where OO does not know how to export something to WORD as there are several possibilities. Why not have some user interaction, that when OO detects formatting etc that could be exported two ways to ask the user e.g. "OO has detected shading in this document at [...] this positin. Do you want to have it exported as shading or as highliting ?"
