2007 -------
To reporduce:

Open any database with a table containing a boolean field.
Open the query designer
Select the table, and the boolean field.
Change the field selection cell by adding the function SOME
Execute the query - the error 'SQL Sytax Error'
Change to SQL view and turn escape processing off.
Execute the same query - no error.
i.e
SELECT SOME( "BooleanField" ) FROM "Table1"
