I don't believe it is a font problem because merely changing the content of the cell fixes/"boxizes" the characters displayed on the formula bar.　Not only would changing the contents of the cell affect the outcome, I've also had instances where changing the values in other cells affected the outcome as well. It's really all weird to me. I was not able to reproduce the boxes in the cells anymore. I am at present unable to test with 2.3rc1.
