I *did* hold the rules and I *did* give a step-by-step instruction, insofar as
that's possible considering that for normal people there's only one step. I've
described the circumstances that cause the problem in detail, only the be
asked for irrelevancies. If my previous post and perhaps this one appear a tad
emotional, it's because you are leaving the impression that you can't read
plain English.
I'll repeat, as explicitly as I can possibly be:
*Create a new document, or open an existing one. It doesn't matter where you
got it, or who wrote it, or what's in it, whether it contains only text or
only graphics, or both, if you use a fresh install or an existing one, or
whether my computer or someone elses was used to create it.
*Change the page width to something else than 21 cm. It doesn't matter how you
do this. It doesn't matter if you select a built-in papersize or specify a
custom one.
*Print the document to a LaserJet 1010. It doesn't matter if print directly,
or ask the spooler to print to file and let it print it later.
*Notice that the page comes out printed as if the software assumed the page
was left-aligned in the tray. On the LaserJet 1010 pages are centered in the
tray; the text and/or graphics appear shifted. This only happens using OOo.
What more can you possibly want?
Oh, about the "I'm sorry": spare the false politeness. It's quite obvious by
your tone that you're not sorry at all. And to set one final thing straight:
this is not about my feelings. I'm just trying to second-guess what this
hidden bit of information is, that you are looking for... you obviously know
what it is, and that it won't actually help fixing the problem, but you won't
do anything until I guess it, like some kind of "password"...
