Hello
Today, I've upgraded from OpenOffice 2.2 to OpenOffice 2.3; by uninstalling the
old version, cleaning up all configuration files and registry entries and
reinstalling on various Windows machines.
After installation, I've found out that the OpenOffice.org installer creates
some keys in HKEY_CURRENT_USER, but instead of using backslashes it uses
forward slashes. The created keys are as follows (both under HKEY_CURRENT_USER):
- Software/OpenOffice.org/OpenOffice.org 2.3/ShellNew
- Software/OpenOffice.org/OpenOffice.org 2.3/StartMenu
I've tested this in those 3 configurations:
- Windows 2000, SP4 (virtual machine, clean Windows 2000 installation with
no extra software)
- Windows XP, SP1 (machine which used to have OpenOffice 2.2)
- Windows XP, SP2 (machine which used to have OpenOffice 2.2)
And the result is still the same. Note that I observe no problems with the
registry keys created in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE or HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.
Another note: this doesn't seem to break any functionality.
