The OfficiaSansBookITC font has 3223 kerning pairs, one of which is U+0020
(space) with U+006c (small letter l)! The kerning amount for this particular
pair is 96% of the width of the space, so it is not surprising why not much of
the space width remains.
SInce U+0020 also kerns with U+0142 (small polish l) for the same amount these
kern pairs are intended so by the font designer. No idea what the rationale
behind this font design decicion is, but OOo works as expected with this font.
Workaround: Disable pair kerning for this font (e.g. using
Format->Character->Position->PairKerning)
