------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Oct 28 10:50:34 +0000 2007 ------- > What Linux system do you use? Ubuntu 7.10 > How is the printer bind into your Linux system? I have a Brother HL-2030 printer connected by USB. I use latest drivers from Brother, and I have never had any other problems with other applications. The problem does not depend on the type of printer. I can reproduce the problem with a PDF output as shown in the attachement. And it shows a strange difference in behaviour between 9.5cm and 9.6 cm height. > Is the printer able to take paper with 220mm width? (My printer can only use max 216mm) > Why do you try to use "Portrait" although the format is actually "Landscape"? > Do you tried it with the "Landscape" setting? Yes it handles a 22cm width no problem. I can also insert the envelope the other way round (by the small side), but the laser printer tends to crumple them. So the only way I can use the envelopes is by inserting them the other way, by the 22cm width (that's what I alway do with MS Word). > The screenshot looks as if the setting for the paper orientation in the printer properties is wrong. Please have a look. It's because I sent the PDF file output (easier than scanning a printed page ...). In fact it shows the result inserted in an A4 paper. That's why it my be confusing. Just forget the a4 paper around and imagine that the real envelope is around the text. I guess I could have drawn a box around the text to represent the envelope. Do not hesitate to ask form more details.
