------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Oct 29 05:18:03 +0000 2007 ------- I've just reviewed this issue again. Perhaps the Help text has changed ... because it now (OOo2.3) says: "\n in the Replace with text box stands for a paragraph break that can be entered with the Enter or Return key." Evidently this is intended for users of Writer, but could (arguably) be read as 'there is no paragraph mark in Calc, so it doesn't apply and we replace literally in Calc' In which case it could be argued that it's working as designed. I documented the current Calc behaviour in a regex HowTo http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/How_Tos/Regular_Expressio ns_in_Calc before rediscovering this issue. I wonder if a quick fix to allow this issue to be closed might be to change the Help to read: "In Writer, \n in the Replace with text box stands for a paragraph break that can be entered with the Enter or Return key. In Calc, \n in the Replace with text box simply stands for the 2 characters \n" Very few people like the way \n and paragraphs are handled by OOo regex, but getting the behaviour documented warts and all might help. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
