The spellcheck ditionaries (spell, hyphenation, thesaurus) that come with the
office are not editable, neither are those that can be downloaded with "DicOOo"
(via menu: File-Wizards-Install new dictionaries...).
The user dictionaries are "lists" that can be edited. So words unnknown to the
spellchecker can be added there as well as words that the spellchecker
(sometimes mistakingly) accepts but the user prefers to be marked as "spell
errors".
In the Help, when you search for "spellcheck", there are "several things to
read"...
Please have a look there and be a bit more precise with what you miss there.
