I find the source of confusion. The patch only fixed a symptom. But the real
problem was the paint issue. After disabling rtl for the graph control window
the paint issues where fixed but now the patch gave the imap objects the wrong
hit test.
The fix was to just disable rtl for the graph control and not apply the patch.
Now everything is working.
