> You talk about "HTML children". Can you provide those document ...
> You say "sometimes update". So the problem is not always reproducible?

I first encountered this "not responding" issue in a different master document
(in vista/OO-2.3). In that master document, the first three included documents
are the same (as the documents included here). The problem manifests itself
when the 4th child document is included.

In the "other" master document that 4th child document ..was.. in HTML format.
When I converted to OO-2.3 and opened the document it hung up ("not responding")
on the files update.

I worked on the problem and identified that if I removed the html child and
replaced it with an equivalent odt format child it worked....in that document.

The document I included with the bug report was originally created in OO-2.2
with the 4th child document being an HTML file. Based on the previous
experience, I removed the HTML file child and replaced it with an .odt format
file....but this time the odt file exhibited the same problem. (The included
file is bigger with bigger tables in the "bug report" example.)

So I began trying to isolate what it is in the file that is causing the problem.
What I found was that if I included 12 (of the 150 tables) the update would
hang. But if I included the first 6 or the second 6 it would work. (So it
doesn't appear to be any specific content that is the issue.)

I have un-installed OO-2.3 and re-installed OO-2.2 and the example file works
fine again.

I just got instructions on how to run two parallel installs of OO. So I will
install parallel OO-2.3 versions on my XP and vista boxes and verify that it
(appears to be) a vista/OO-2.3 only issue.

So...I have three questions:
A. Do you want me to change the master document back to including htmls (vs.
odts)?
B. You indicated you were using "OOo m236", where do I find this number?
C. Is there a better way to ask these questions ?email?, or are they fine here?

Thanks
