------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Nov 18 12:47:14 +0000 2007 ------- Hello, I'm writing a novel, and for the ease of portability am saving it in .rtf format. Over the years, I've been able to use it on my Macs, even PDAs, and now a UMPC based mini-laptop, using Vista home premium with 1gb ram. However, I now have a problem, in that when I save the file (not only save as), quit, then re-open the file and OO, I lose some words. Usually, they are at the beginning of the paragraph, and bizarrely the tab and quotation marks will still be there, but immediately followed by the second word of the paragraph! As you can imagine, this is almost worse than losing huge chunks, because you often don't realise until much later. I've had to move to using .odt, which is less than ideal for my needs. I'm not sure if this helps, but I've noticed that the .rtf files OO is saving are very bloated - about 600k compared with 150k for the equivalent .odt version. Thanks for listening - I remain a great fan of OO!
