Interesting, indeed.  Could you please try with the Perl script?  What has 
changed?

Background: Interestingly we were unable to reproduce the "On 
Linux, ./soffice -writer in one shell, and let it open.  In the second 
shell, do ./soffice -calc - and it does nothing." part with OOo downloaded 
from www.openoffice.org, just with the self-build one.  _But_ - the script 
(send.pl) that used to work with m5, does not work even with the downloaded 
version.

Could you please try with the send.pl script?
