I'll try to reproduce on my WinXP(SP2) game partition tonight if I have the disk space there. If I cannot reproduce it there then I agree the issue must be somehow tied intimately to my particular combination of soft/hard-ware. Bad for me, but good for OOo and most everyone else. But I'm also more than willing to install a custom version of OOo that might spit out any amount of info about the font, individual character metrics, positioning of each successive character in the paragraph, and such (perhaps limited to the current paragraph) when I press some button or select a debug menu item, if that could prove useful. I simply don't know how to add such a feature myself, or even what data to grab or from what structures.
