2005 -------
Dual boot system (win98/linux) operating Suse linux 9.2 running OO 1.1.4 writer.
Have a soft link in my home directory to a directory in the fat32 partition for
data shared between OS's. Initial save of a (Word97).doc file was successful;
subsequent saves resulted in an error indicating the backup file could not be
created. Since backup was turned off this error was somewhat misleading.
Discovered on exit that all changes after first save had been lost.

Saves to a linux (reiserfs) folder work fine; do not have OO for windows
installed so cannot address saves from within windows, but I do know windows
cannot see the linux partition so the reverse problem cannot exist.

Workaround is to save to a linux location, then copy to the fat32 partition when
file is completed.
