I am able to reproduce this behavior to a point, but I don't think it's a bug.
I created a .pdf file and opened it with Acrobat Reader 7.0. I then made
changes to the file and attempted to export again to .pdf while the file was
still open in Reader.
I *did* get the two error messages reported. However, after closing Reader
(and, therefore, the file) I was able to successfully export to .pdf and the
file rendered as expected in Reader.
