This isn't even an issue. ODFF specs the date serial number is returned and Calc
does return the date serial number. ODFF does not spec the value should be
formatted as date. It is not automatically formatted as date for
interoperability with other apps.
When ODFF specs "Returns: Date", Date is referred as specified in section "4.2.2
Date and DateTime" (ODFF 28Dec2007), i.e. Date is a subtype of number.
