Running the attached presentation causes the X server to consume all of system
memory in about 1h on my system (1G Phys + 1G swap).

This makes it difficult to use OOo for any kind of long-term repeating display
(e.g. kiosk or information video stream).

The repetition seems to be the key feature: the faster the presentation repeats,
the faster memory is consumed.

If the soffice.bin slideshow process is killed, the X server releases the
memory.

I tested this under Fedora Linux 8 with xorg-x11-server 1.3.0.0-37.fc8
