Second investigation reveals that it is only possible to create *open* polygons
in Writer since OOo 2.2.1. The area of open polygons can not be filled.
Workaround:
After the creation of the polygon select the polygon. Then, open the toolbar
"Edit Points" and close the polygon by clicking button named "Close Bezier".
Now, the polygon is closed and its area can be filled.
OD->AW: Please have a look, why it is not possible to create *closed* polygons
in Writer as it was possible till OOo 2.2, Thx.
