Description is based on the document of Notes2 build 2286 edgy-jdk.

Current behavior: During editing or formatting of the notes content, the stylist
is kept active. Although it is possible to select the stylist's entries, neither
in the document text nor in the notes window the selected style gets applied.

Expected behavior (today): If text objects (inserted by using corresponding
function on the drawing toolbar) are edited, then the toggle buttons at the top
of the stylist get deactivated. (... and maybe something more changes ...)

Expected behavior (ideal): Deactivation of the stylist during editing of such
"alien" objects. (But, if this leads to a repeatedly grayed out "big white
stylist list field", this behavior should be avoided.)

Please use the following steps to reproduce the behavior:
• Change to the document text. Activate the stylist and make ist show e.g. all
paragraph styles.
• Change into the notes text and double-click (activate) one entry in the
stylist. This entry will be highlighted as usual; nothing changes inside the
note.
• Now, you are able to change between several notes and the current selected
entry in the stylist keeps selected. After changing the cursor back to the
document text, the view of the stylist seems to be reset to show the real
settings.
