The described behavior can be reproduce easier:
- create new text document
- insert a picture and add a caption to it.
- select picture and copy-and-paste it into the body area
--> pasted picture is as big as as the body area
But, nothing wrong here:
The width attribute of the picture is changed to 100% relative to its
environment, when a caption is added. When you paste such a picture into another
environment - in this case the body area - its width is adjusted to 100% of its
environment and it height is scaled accordingly
--> resolving this issue as INVALID
