2008 -------
Linux DE can use wide range of options to control what to show user at 
application start. However OOffice ignores that settings and use its hardcoded 
options -- splashscreen.

Please, don't do this. In KDE for example the very useful and not disturbing 
visual feedback is bouncing cursor. It works great, however thanks to hardcoded 
options of Office it is impossible to set consistent look&feel of the desktop.
