------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Jan 19 19:44:20 +0000 2008 ------- I am having this same problem. When I choose File > Save (or Save As ...) from the menu and save the document from Writer, it saves as a generic file. It does this regardless of the file type I choose (I usually use .odt or .doc). When I find the file in WIN EXPLORER, the icon doesn't show up as the OOo icon, and there is no file extension. If I then try to open the file (from WIN EXPLORER, OOo File menu, or from OOo or WIN dialog), WIN EXPLORER opens a dialog box asking me to choose the program I want to use to open the file. It has been doing this since Nov. 2007, about 1 month after I downloaded OOo. Previously, the problem didn't exist. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
