------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Jan 24 23:50:40 +0000 2008 ------- New development: This evening just for grins I downloaded and installed Sun's ODF Add-In to allow MS Office to Import/Export ODF files (OOo files). The amount of image mislocation in OOo was markedly LESS using the Export odf from Word on my 33 Meg test file. It would still be a pretty fair annoyance to repair, but ... it would be possible to manually repair that document. There was only one place, around page 25 or so, where the image movement put several tabled images one on top fo the other haphazardly. There were still other instances of images, particularly those at the bottom of the pages, to be moved down, outisde the confines of its page but that may be a result of the initial haphazardness I just mentioned. That's the good news because that would cover nearly ALL of the Word files I have with a few notable exceptions. The bad news is, with the 53 Meg file, the image trashing was still substantial enough to be extremely annoying to repair manually. To synopsize though, it at least appears that the Sun Add-in allows files quite a bit larger than 10 Meg to be successfully transferred to OOo format. I have a LOT Of those. But, for the few in the 50 Meg and up range, I would be willing to further breatk those up into smaller files if it were my only choice. Going forward I would just never again allow a file to get larger than 10 Meg. It's a workable work-around if nothing else. 2nd of the "two related issues" still not posted; awaiting resolution of mru contact details. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
