2008 -------
When open office starts, memory usage is fine, but as soon as I use an
application, the usage goes to 3 - 4 times start up memory use, irrespective of
whether I use calc or writer, or the size of the document. This high usage has
the effect of temporarily freezing the application and is exacerbated if I use
spellcheck, when the chances of unfreezing are seriously reduced.
Despite documents being closed, memory is not released until the application is
closed.
I have successively upgraded from 1.0 and only noted the problem in this
version.
I normally have Firefox and Thunderbird open at the same time, with Google
desktop.
I have searched the database but all related bugs seem to have been closed so I
appear to have a one off.
I have considered deleting and reloading the application. Would this be wasted
effort?
