It is common in Italian to use either a dot ('.') or a colon (':') as the time
separator, i.e. "8.40" and "8:40" are both legitimate ways to write the time in
Italian.

OOo 1.9.79 (Italian) recognizes only the former.

A dot-separated time (e.g. 8.40) in a Calc cell is correctly interpreted and
formatted, while a colon-separated time (e.g. 8:40) is considered a string.
