Considering later versions, I hope we will be able to integrate the "direct" access in the ruler bar or to integrate the little "placeholder" for "direct click and write a Note" (which needs the Side Pane with or without other Notes). In both cases, the harmonization with the activated/disabled menu entry in View could be a challenge or maybe not even possible.
