Please select another version or install a new JRE and select it under Tools - Options - Openoffice.org - Java". The java -version output (for failing OO application) is given below, java version "1.6.0-internal" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build pxa6460-20071008_01) IBM J9 VM (build 2.4, J2RE 1.6.0 IBM J9 2.4 Linux amd64-64 jvmxa6460- 20071005_14236 (JIT enabled) J9VM - 20071005_014236_LHdSMr JIT - r9_20071003_1817 GC - 20071002_AA) I hope this information answers your query.
